For many years, the City of Santa Cruz Water Department has been planning strategies to secure water supply as well as to improve system reliability and resiliency to droughts. Simultaneously, the City has undertaken an initiative to address aging infrastructure. Major investment is planned to rehabilitate and replace back-bone infrastructure, including raw water transmission and surface water treatment facilities.
