Parking Office

The Parking Office at 124 Locust Street is open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Located in the Locust Street Parking Garage, the office manages parking citation payments and most of the City's permit parking programs.

Late Charges and Unpaid Balances

Late charge is $30. Unpaid balances can result in a hold on your vehicle registration, the booting of your car or the City filing for a civil judgement against you. This judgement goes on your record and affects your credit standing.

Programs

The City of Santa Cruz has seven different Residential Permit Parking Programs. Signs are posted in each program noting the parking restrictions. Residents living on these restricted streets can purchase three annual residential permits, two annual guest permits, and up to 30 daily permits per household. Businesses in the Beach Area and Harvey West programs may also purchase permits. Permits are sold in person or by mail at the Parking Office at 124 Locust St. Office hours are Monday through Friday,9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays.

To purchase permits, bring your picture identification and vehicle registration/s. If these documents do not reflect your current address in the program, bring current proof of residency. Current proof of residency can be a recently dated rental contract, a utility bill in your name, personal bills sent to you, or similar items verifying your residency. Non-resident property owners can also purchase a permit with a utility or tax bill reflecting ownership.

UCSC Student Off-Campus Parking Permit Program

• UCSC Student Off-Campus Parking Permit(PDF, 157KB) This parking lot is usually sold out by September each year. Given limited spaces, we begin a lottery waitlist on June 1. To be placed on this list, call (831) 420-6097.

Instructions for Requesting an Administrative Review on Parking Citations

The registered owner, driver or lessee of the cited vehicle must request an administrative review of the parking citation within 21 days of the date printed on the front of the citation. If a review is not requested within the specified time limit, there is no further right of review. Details are outlined as follows:
