Yes. Online applications are preferred however paper applications are available in the HR Office and a link is online for the print application form. If you use the print form, make sure to find the supplemental questions on our online application tool, or on the flyer in our office. Also note that many job postings state online applications only, when applicable this is found in the posting information.
We accept online applications for all jobs listed on our City Jobs page (current recruitments only); online applications are preferred, paper applications accepted. Jobs listed on individual department pages may require a paper application form.
Yes, resumes, certificates, letters of recommendation etc. can be attached as pdf files to your application. Scan DMV driving record reports separately. It is recommended to scan to a pdf; some other common file types are accepted.
Yes, send them by mail or bring them into the HR Office by 5 p.m. on the deadline date. Postmarks will not be accepted. If there is no deadline date - as in "first 50 applications accepted" - the additional materials must arrive in the HR Office before the recruitment closes. You can also email attachments to HR@santacruzca.gov.
The City of Santa Cruz no longer requires conviction information at time of application, per State regulation AB 218 except for positions in public safety.
For regular (non-temporary) positions, you will be notified by email. All candidates will receive notification about their status once applications have been screened. For temporary positions, you may only be notified if you are selected for an interview.
