About Us
What We're About
The Santa Cruz Water Department provides you with safe, high-quality water service that protects public health and is essential to your everyday life.
Almost 100,000 people rely on the Santa Cruz Water Department for water service. We operate a system that includes more than 300 miles of pipes to bring water to customers, pumps and lift stations to move water where it's needed, and a water storage reservoir that captures our water supply before we purify the water and send it to your faucet.
Santa Cruz's drinking water is supplied primarily through surface water collected from local rainfall. Because of this, we must count every drop and make every drop count.
