Project Description

SB 330 Preapplication for a mixed-use development consisting of approximately 222,000 square feet, a six-story mixed-use building with resident amenities, parking, approximately 4,000 square feet of commercial/industrial space on the ground floor, 120 apartment units on the upper floors, and a standalone, approximately 5,000 square foot commercial/industrial building on a 1.9-acre site in the IG-Per 2,/CZ-O (General Industrial, Performance Overlay/Coastal Zone Overlay).

On August 20, 2024, a formal application was submitted for the proposed redevelopment of the subject site. The plans submitted for formal application remain unchanged from those submitted by the Pre-application submitted under SB330.

The applicant has requested a review of the proposed project as a staged development according to the City of Santa Cruz Municipal Code (SCMC) Section 24.08.740. As submitted, the project will require a Planned Development Permit as staged development review, a Special Use Permit, and a Density Bonus request for consideration of a mixed-use industrial/residential development on the subject site, located in the I-G PER2/CZ-O (General Industrial-Performance Overlay 2/Coastal Zone Overlay) zone district.

Community Meetings/Webinars

According to the City's Community Outreach Policy for Planning Projects, a community meeting is required. Feedback provided may contribute to alterations in the project design and additional project entitlements.

Application Withdrawal

On March 28, 2025, the submitted application for proposed redevelopment was withdrawn by the property owner, terminating all further action on the application in accordance with City of Santa Cruz Municipal Code Section 24.04.165.
