West Cliff Resilience and Community Vision

The City of Santa Cruz, with the support of Farallon Strategies, has concluded a year-long project to develop the 50-year Community Vision for West Cliff. This document provides a comprehensive framework that will contribute to the long-term vision for West Cliff.

The 50-year Community Vision represents the community's aspirations for what West Cliff will look like in 50 years and how the community wants to use West Cliff in the future. It allows the City to allocate resources to projects which may take decades to plan, fund, and complete. This also gives the City time to build disaster resilience along West Cliff to weather future extreme storms and ongoing stressors and protect the community from the impacts of climate change. By doing so, the City aims to ensure the protection and well-being of the community for generations to come.

5-year Roadmap Draft Available Now for Review and Feedback

The City is excited to announce that the draft 5-year Roadmap for West Cliff(PDF, 84MB) is now available for review and feedback!

This phase of the project builds on the 50-year Community Vision and aligns with existing City initiatives. We invite the community to provide input on the Roadmap through January 26, 2025. The final version will be presented to the City Council by early 2025. You can also view a quick guide to the Roadmap(PDF, 3MB).
