Financial Reports
In accordance with the City Charter and/or external regulations, the following reports of the City of Santa Cruz are submitted for your information and review. Various financing covenants and regulations associated with restricted funding sources also require the City of Santa Cruz, California to publish a complete set of financial statements presented in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and audited by a firm of licensed certified public accountants. Pursuant to the requirements noted above, we hereby issue the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report of the City of Santa Cruz, California for each fiscal year.
City of Santa Cruz Popular Annual Financial Report
The City of Santa Cruz is committed to fiscal sustainability and transparency. The Finance Department proudly began producing a Popular Annual Financial Report in fiscal year (FY) 2023 as an effort to make the formal financial reports produced understandable and consumable for the public at large. This is a recommended report by the Government Finance Officers Association, which encourages governments to create a popular report to assist those who need or desire a less detailed overview of a government's financial activities than is available in the annual comprehensive financial report. This popular annual financial report (PAFR) is a way to communicate the financial data that a broad audience who may be unfamiliar with accounting and financial reporting.
