Harvey West Park Design and Program Assessment

The City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with CMG Landscape Architects, is nearing the completion of the Harvey West Park Design and Program Assessment. This assessment will outline both short- and long-term improvements to enhance the park's facilities, usability, and overall community experience.

Project Overview

Harvey West Park is one of Santa Cruz's most beloved community spaces, offering a variety of recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike. The Design and Program Assessment aims to address key areas for improvement, including:

Park Design Enhancements: Improved circulation, drainage, and landscaping
Facility Upgrades: Modernizing sports fields, pool, recreation facilities, restrooms, playgrounds, and picnic areas
Cost Estimates and Phasing Strategies: Provide rough order of magnitude cost estimates and begin to identify funding strategies

The Harvey West Park Design and Program Assessment is scheduled for the October 13, 2025 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting at 4:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 809 Center Street.
