Santa Cruz Wharf Bent 103-104 Repair Project
Following the December 2024 partial collapse of the Santa Cruz Wharf, the City conducted a Phase II Assessment of the remaining Wharf that determined that the Wharf is in generally sound shape. Localized conditions were identified requiring some level of mitigation or repair.
The Phase II Assessment revealed damage to Bents 103-104 consisting of missing piles and damage to caps, stringers, and decking leading to a significant deflection in the pedestrian walkway adjacent to Gilda’s Restaurant.
Recent observations by Wharf staff have revealed an accelerated rate of deflection leading to the walkway area being cordoned off to protect public safety.
The City intends to conduct the Santa Cruz Wharf Bent 103-104 Repair Project to restore the area to its previous condition and footprint. No additional work or improvements to this area are contemplated at this time.
Repairs are expected to begin on or about September 2025 and are expected to be completed by October 2025.
